Ten-hundred job description

Using the Up-Goer Five Test Editor:

I help people tell computers how to see how big things are. The computers do this by touching the things many times with a little stick all over. I also make sure that they tell the computers how to do this in the right way. It is important that the computers get the right answer for how big things are, so the things can be used in making other things.

That was harder than I would have imagined it to be. Ended with:

I make the computers go.

Which, yeah, pretty much how I describe my job anyways.

Heh, yes. "I look for ways to make things go." :)

that's a good job. Mine is rubbish:

I help people make other people want to buy things they do not really need.

What kind of things? Like things that are very big and far away in the sky, or like things you could have in your room? Touching things with a stick all over seems like a strange way to see how big a thing is.

I can't, yet. Your description is pretty good.

Wait... you teach computers how to poke things with a stick???

Usually things that are used to make cars or things that fly. Sometimes things that are used to make power from wind. Any thing that is made up of many smaller things that must not be too big or too small, really.

Seeing how big things are using ways other than touching is being used more and more now. They use light to do it. It is much faster that way. But touching with a little stick is still the best way to tell how big something is.

I help kids learn to use numbers to explain the world. They can follow steps to change the numbers so they can find answers to problems. When I am not doing this, I make clothes out of animal hair. I also like reading books about things that haven't happened yet, or that could have happened, but didn't.

At a big school, there is a very bright light that can see through things. People there use the light to look at things that are very small or very fast. Computers save pictures of the things that people look at with the see through light. But since there are many different pictures, the computers need to make sure that the right time is remembered for each picture.

I help the computers get the time right.
