2x/week seems a tad excessive, but there're still plenty of folks who go see it weekly in SoCal. Sins of the Flesh (http://www.sinsotheflesh.org/) does a decent job of shadowcasting w/good callbacks, great costumes, and some decent props.
Way back when, when it first came out, we didn't use a whole lotta props (rice, playing cards, squirt guns for rain, real flame lighters), but developed lotsa good callbacks. When someone came up w/something new, it was grand fun listening to the reactions.
