Didn't finish Jacob's Ladder No. 1 today as I was hoping, due to a lumber snafu. But I did stain the wood frame pieces I have finished, did the final mounting of the electronics package, and mostly finished the second etched plate.

Still thinking about smithing a custom handle for the top, but I'm kind of wanting to get this project done at this point.

The u-bolts holding the motor in place came with ugly nut plates, so I obviously had to make my own.

And why not find a weird quote to put on it? The etching on this one was deeper, but I messed it up a bit in the sanding stage. I was an idiot and didn't mask those large un-etched sections. Oh well, live and learn. Still need to square up the edges a bit with a file, too.
Tomorrow I leave for NYC. I have far too many things I want to do, of course, but that's just how this works. Should be all kinds of fun!
