Web ads I am tired of seeing:

Evony online. They were getting increasingly creepy, but now they've come out the far side as simple self-parody. Play our game! Boobs!

1 rule to a flat stomach. These things are simply everywhere. And I realize I'm not the target audience, but most of the before and after pics look about equally attractive to me.

I guess I'm just tired of every webpage I pull up looking like porn from across the room.

Firefox+AdBlockPlus+Filterset.G Updater FTW. It makes CNN look kinda sparse.

I really hate the ones with the really frantic dancing silhouettes, often against a blinking background. I don't even know what they're for. I just want to gouge my eyes out when I see them.

I use Chrome and am otherwise happy with it. It blocks the really annoying stuff, which is all I really need. I'm not owed a universe free of minor annoyances.

On the plus side, porn now looks like every web page from across the room.

I also hate the smiley ads that say, "HEY! SAY SOMETHING!" They seem to pop up all the time.

A year or two ago I found a handy list of every significant ad webserver hostname and blackholed them all. That, combined with my since-netscape-1.0 policy of not running untrusted executable content, means that I can't even remember the last time I saw an ad. So I suppose I sympathize and am reminded why I do such things. :)

Heh. What do you know? Those are the two that I have been complaining about, too. Grar.

All the evony ads have been worth it to produce this:

Or well, I laughed myself silly anyhow.

I want to know what that one rule IS. Gastric bypass surgery? Staple mouth closed for six months?

Yeah, the one rule ads and etc. are very annoying. I note that I mostly see such annoying ads while using MSN, Yahoo, etc (hotmail, etc.) Google ads are much less obnoxious.

I find many of the before photos on the one-rule ads to be very disturbing. (Of course, they go out of the way to make it look particularly bad.)

Yeah, I was gonna say that. I haven't seen a web ad in *ages*.
