I'm going to be on a panel at Norwescon with Vernor Vinge. Being concom has its perks.
I'm going to DC for 5 days next week for a conference on "Open Standards/Open Source for National and Local eGovernment Programs in the U.S. and EU". The conference actually sounds interesting, unlike AMIA. This is all being planned at the last minute, of course. But I've never been in DC before, or even on the east coast except for layovers. (I've been in 4 foreign capitols but not my own! I want to travel more.) I'm going to stay an extra day to try to take in as much as possible. There won't be time for a visit to the NSA museum, sadly.
I'm going to be married in two months!

Wow. Congratulations.
And now I have my reason to go to NWC...I wonder how fast the rooms sell out?
