I just finished running a robotics demo for swarms of 7th grade girls. Seemed to go over pretty well, maybe I'll volunteer to do it for the group next week as well. I'm just hanging around the lab, poking at a motion estimation algorithm so old the paper that describes it ran simulations on a VAX 11/780.

For fun, I rendered an animation of the stereo-derived 3D pointcloud for the test video, coloring each feature based on its segmentation from the previous animation I posted.

Excellent.

The 780 used to be the workhorse of academia. I've used a 750 myself.

First system I ever had an account on was an 11/780.

That's a pretty cool animation.

I have always thought gaggle was the appropriate collective noun for tween girls.
