dvrs are becoming less rare. in fact, time-warner cable is now offering replaytv based dvrs as set top boxes. these units have 80 gig hard drives, and will allow users to record two programs while still watching a third, do picture in picture, and a bunch of other features. i think these will become really popular. as large as aol time-warner is, i think that would be a decent lobby against anti-dvr legislation. other cable operaters are rolling dvrs out as well, and theyve been offered for satellite tv for quite awhile now. i had one of the original replatv based panasonics until it gave out on me recently, and i miss it. i'm already on the waiting list for time-warners unit.
