I made it, after about 23 hours in the truck. (Including naps and the 4 hour crawl to get from the road to the site, thanks to the dust storm.)
I'm at 7:20 and Impala, mountain side. Avalanche truck and giant Interstate trailer with solar panels on the top. And, hopefully by this afternoon, a wind turbine.

I kind of wish I'd went this year, but well, there's always next.

And next year we're all going to a family reunion in Montana or Colorado so it'll be at least two years before I can even think about attending Burning Man.

I don't know if the kid will ever see TEITD, but the regional burn might be doable.
Hmmm, people bring such weird things to Black Rock anyway, how long till it's feasable to set up a mobile autism day care unit? I can't see doing it without air taxi service to Reno.

A tent wouldn't work but what about a yurt? You can even put one on the back of a pickup truck. ;-)

I don't think organized daycare would be possible without several buses/RVs and some families willing to "swap off" watching the children.
As for screaming meltdowns from experience I find that a matter of communication. Autism plays hell with the communication lines, (I know from first-hand internal experience), and you misinterpret everything if it doesn't fit your "framework". It's one of the top things I find parents with autistic children have a problem with - they can't find a way to find a path through the "mental noise" the kid suffers from so can't address the child's wants and the child gets upset. :-/
This is just side-notes BTW not a commentary on you or your child. I'm apologize if it came off that way.
