I am doing the fishin' jacket thing at the moment. Mine contains:

-keys
-wallet
-phone
-travelcard
-meds
-combination pocket watch/LED flashlight/compass (don't much care about the compass but that was the sturdiest watch + light I could find)
-ID
-student card thing and holder because I have to wear it when I'm at Trinty
-long silk scarf, folded up to nearly-nothing
-1 or 2 hankies
-mini sharpie
-pen, pencil, highlighter
-earplugs
-foldy hairbrush
-hairband(s)
-lip balm (works as all-purpose emergency moisturizer; my skin hates me)
-titanium spork
-leatherman (except I took it out to do international travel and haven't put it back in yet)

It would normally contain some cord of some sort but, er, I put it somewhere. I used to have a very tiny fold-up waterproof (a good one, not some plastik disposable), but I've no idea where it's gone. That was clipped to a belt and Is uspect the clip came undone.

I also had a wonderful lightweight silk folding wide-brim sun-hat but left it at a friend's house in another city and haven't been back to pick it up. Le sigh. I might make one, or I might just break down and get a Tilley.

I wish I would just settle on one thing that works but every 3-4 months I find something the matter with whatever I'm doing and want to switch. Utility belts are much easier in summer as they don't make me too warm the way fishing jackets can, but in winter I start to have problems wiht getting my coat closed over them. Also every single one I have had so far has fallen apart at some point, and this pisses me off.
