Sala Thai is probably the best Thai in the city, and is, hmm, moderately priced, similar to Sawasdee. (And the second oldest, right after Sawasdee, heh.) Montri's is maybe even better, but they've been getting more gourmet priced in recent years. Good cheap thai, meh, I dunno, there are a lot of cheap /okay/ places. (Thai cooking ingredients are cheap and plentiful in this town, though...)

Have you been to Hawker's Delight on Main & King Ed yet? They're malaysian, not thai, but they have the sub-$5, grimy wall, delicious food thing going on for sure. Oh the mee pok. Chomp chomp chomp.

(Not quite as cheap but still like less than $10 is the Congee House on Broadway just west of Main. They're our favourite late-night snack place, although admittedly we aren't as close to a Duffin's. They have lots of "only after 10pm" specials like duck tongue, whee! And you can buy fried quails for $3! Which makes me giggle every time I see it. And order two. This restaurant is perhaps not so appealing if you don't share my hobby of Oh, A Meat I Haven't Tried Yet! But Joe always finds something boring to order there, spoilsport.)
