Ah've felt yo' pain. It's really hard to keep your anality up after the first few. It's probably not a good idea to start with the same students every time.
For a second, I thought you were making a strange reference to the old C-64 game "Raid on Bungeling Bay", the only other place I've ever heard the phrase "pyrrhic victory".
Just for the heck of it, I checked to see if wikipedia had an article on it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raid_on_Bungeling_Bay). They do, but they completely fail to mention that in the game, the cities you are attacking behave like sim city. Which makes sense considering it was Will Wright's first game. The enemy cities have factories and supply lines, and their defenses and offenses get more powerful if you allow them to lie undamaged for any length of time.
I wonder if I should actually do my very first Wikipedia edit to update this subject. Hm.
