A hemispherical hill caused by a lens of ice growing in permafrost where a lake used to be. I've wanted to see one since I first heard about them, and the area just north of Inuvik has the highest concentration in the world.

Permafrost is really weird stuff. I picked up a book on geocryology in Alaska and I was hooked.
