Being an obsessive fanboy, I saw it twice in the first day. The midnight showing at Pacific Place with [livejournal.com profile] corivax and the 15:45 showing at Cinerama with [livejournal.com profile] corivax, [livejournal.com profile] plantae, [livejournal.com profile] xmurf, [livejournal.com profile] cria_cow and [livejournal.com profile] sistawendy. (For those of you not in Seattle, or who are in Seattle but are not film snobs, Cinerama is the cool theater. Seeing something there on opening night is much more the experience. Pacific Place, on the other hand, has the advantage of queuing people up inside.)

My plan to watch Fellowship while waiting in line for the midnight showing was foiled by a missing power brick for the dvd drive I borrowed. It was mostly foiled the next day by an almost exhausted power source, though I did get through most of the Rivendell scenes. Next year I'm doing it for sure. Both Fellowship AND Two Towers. 7 hours of movie. At Pacific Place again, being inside and all. Also, having seen FotR once on the first day, and Two Towers twice, I'll obviously have to see Return of the King three times.

As for Two Towers... I was a bit disappointed. (As compared to Fellowship, that is, not on any reasonable scale.) I did like it better on the second viewing, but some of the liberties they took with the plot rather bugged me. The beginning felt very rushed. I hope the success of FotR hasn't gone to Jackson's head too much.
