It's about three weeks after my birthday, so I guess I should post my yearly review.

Between September 4, 2005 and September 4, 2006 I...
...taught myself Old English and translated 1/30 of Beowulf.
...did some minor spelunking.
...got my basic SCUBA certification.
...flew on the Weightless Wonder (Vomit Comet) again.
...spent 4 days hiking along the Olympic Coast.
...taught myself how to use an atlatl.
...got a recumbent bike and finally did STP (Seattle to Portland bike ride).
...got into parkour.
...failed to get a start-up started, started working on another one.

And some other stuff. This didn't feel like my most productive year, but in retrospect it was pretty good. Here's hoping the last gasp of my 20s is even better. Next year in Ulan Bataar!

AP story via Houston Chronicle:
She will spend two hours on a modified Boeing 727 jet, which will soar six miles above the Earth before dropping, giving about a half-minute of weightlessness with each cycle.

AP story via CNN:
She will spend two hours on a modified Boeing aircraft, which will soar 6 miles (10 kilometers) above the earth before dropping, giving several minutes of weightlessness with each cycle.

I particularly like how the CNN version adds the metric conversion to look extra accurate while in fact being completely wrong about the basic physics of the situation.
