I have this silly DVD sorting code, which I never actually use any more. But as part of it, I grabbed images of all my DVDs from Amazon, so that the sorting it came up with could be displayed visually. Not thinking about it too much, I put them in a publically accessible directory.
Today, I was looking at my web logs, and noticed that a whole bunch of random IPs were downloading those images. 3-4 a minute on average. So I turn on referer logging and find out that it is popular among certain teeny-bopper blog circles to link to the DVD images on my server.
Not a big deal or anything. I locked down the directory to save the bandwidth, no real harm done. Just weird.
