With roughly 24 hours of cross-country driving coming up in a week, I finally broke down and bought the adapter that adds line-in rca connectors to the car stereo. ($50 for a simple little dongle!) After 30 minutes of swearing at whoever designed the instrument panel of the car, I had it installed. Since I was just in front of the house, I tested it by streaming KEXP over wifi onto my laptop and playing it on the car stereo. Whee! This will be a lot better than dealing with the micropowe FM transmitter.

In other news, from this page on early Seattle history:
The Yeslers were spiritualists who refused to join any church. They hosted spiritualist-astrologer W. E. Cheney's sessions at their house. The spiritualists believed in free love and Sarah formed a passionate attachment to at least one other woman, while remaining a loyal wife to Henry.

As [livejournal.com profile] cow said, it's built right into the city.
