The ways and means to New Orleans that can be named are not the true ways and means to New Orleans.

Ah, nothing like building the question set for a cancer quality-of-life survey to make one absolutely terrified of getting old.
CNN: Beyonce's band helps foil carjacking
Not that I know anything about Beyonce beyond having seen the name a few times. But there should be more headlines like this. Reality mimicking bad 70s cartoons is a good thing. I wonder what other bands fight crime on the side. I bet Sting does. And the White Stripes? Totally working towards super-villainhood.

BBC: West stands accused over malaria
Unfortunately, they don't mean Adam West.
That probably isn't as funny as I thought it was. Maybe I should sleep before I start to photoshop an image to go with it.

BoingBoing linked to Opportunitygrrl today. Which is almost as good as them linking to
spiritrover. No accounting for taste, I guess.
Speaking of,
spiritrover is the #1 google hit for 'spiritrover'. That isn't new. But it's now the #19 hit for 'spirit rover', pushing out a lot of hard science for one mediocre joke. Excellent.
And check out the following quote from here, in reference to spiritrover: I really like the fictional-LJ genre. Or maybe I mean medium. I don't read any of them regularly, 'cause I've got enough time sinks already, but I enjoy them when I come across them. Hmm, too bad the Hugos don't have an "Other Forms" category.... I'm quite sure this is the first someone has even offhandedly suggested a new Hugo category should be created just so one of my creations could be nominated.
In other news, I've been developing an tic in my right lower eyelid over the last few days. I hope it makes me look evil.
