Texans like to pass on the right. All the freeways here have parallel access roads with speed limits barely less than the freeway. The Sam Houston Parkway is also known as the Sam Houston Tollway, the Sam Houston Beltway, and Highway 8. Dedicated u-turn hemi-loops are very popular.

NASA was concerned that there was a danger of embolisms if a thruster fired while soemone had their hand over it. We added orange plastic cones to make this impossible, but we were never very worried about the possibility. Our standard demonstration at schools is to set a thruster firing and let the kids feel the air coming out. Being overly enthusiastic, they often push their hands directly against the thruster. We thought about telling NASA that the danger of embolisms had been cleared after extensively testing on grade school kids, but we eventually decided against it.

At Space Center Houston yesterday there was a security guard at the front door. He asked the four of us if we had any knives. Six knives dropped onto the table in rapid succession, and not everybody bothered to turn all of theirs in.
