Naginata

I recently noticed that there is finally a Seattle-area Naginata club. (Sadly, they lack a real web presence.) They meet on Saturdays at 13:00 and welcome beginners to come watch. Anyone interested in checking it out with me this week?

A naginata is like a European glaive, basically a sword mounted on the end of a short spear. Some video: generic practice, stylized katana/naginata routine (kata).

That looks interesting, but I'm afraid my martial arts plate is full, especially on Saturdays... :)

Maybe. Depends on being in town.

If you're interested in the naginata, you may enjoy the _Protector Of The Small_ series by Tamora Pierce. The first book is _Page_.
