As an arbitrary attempt to leave my intellectual mark upon the world, I decided to invent a new form of poetry. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at poetry. I don't even really like it. Therefore any potential form had to be both short and self-writing.

The result of literally minutes of intense procrastination: found acronym haiku.

Take an acronym. Expand both ends redundantly. Done. Example: 'ATM' becomes 'Automatic ATM Machine'. Easy! Yet also compelling to the modern soul, carefuly deconstructing the linguistic glyphs that surround us with a knowing, self-referential wink. Or something.

Personal PIN Number. File FTP Protocol. Light LASER Radiation. Redundant RAID Drives. Central CIA Agency. Radio RADAR Ranging. Grand GOP Party.

Tom always jokingly refers to ATMs as "the Automated Teller Machine Machines." ;) To mock others, of course.

Didn't we do this already?

Moooommm, Fishy's going all redundant again.

Hey, wait. "Grand GOP Party"? *googles* ... It means "Grand Old Party"? What egotistical ... idiocy.

This is indeed inspired. You know, with a little tweaking and suitable expansion, it would probably be just the thing to get you published in A.I.R. (http://www.improb.com/), the ONLY 'scholarly' journal I ever really respected.
