Sin City: surprisingly good, and not just a festival of excess. Visually stunning, of course, and very violent, but the stories underneath it all were engaging. It's all about the narrative.

Millions: Also visually stunning, though not quite to the same degree. Nicely touching.

I finally made it to Beth's, and I'm in love. It's definitely my new favorite late night diner. The drip coffee was actually drinkable, and came in a just-too-cool thick white mug. So much atmosphere you could choke on it! (And if you don't like cigarette smoke, that just might be literal.)

I'm watching Real Genius, and I just noticed something. In the very beginning, Chris Knight is being interviewed at some random institute. The building they are walking into is the General Atomics library barely seen in the center of this tiny image. Which is really cool, because according to George Dyson's great book Project Orion: The True Story of the Atomic Spaceship that building served as a focal point and defacto physical mockup for Orion. Now I really want to stop by and see it in person. And I should make a full post dedicated to Orion, in all its terrible, awesome splendor.
