I agree with you that part of the reason liberal labels haven't caught on the way conservative ones is a matter of marketing and design. Another part is the machine of talk radio; the issues the biggest cranks (Rush Limbaugh, et al) glom onto end up being the issues the major networks pick up, complete with biased catch phrases. I think organizations like MoveOn have been helping get liberal ideas on the radar but if we really want our ideas and labels to stick and to be disseminated, we need better organization, more liberal voices out there, and more consistency in getting a liberal party line (in soundbite friendly phrases) out there on the airwaves. Air America is a good first step but we're still outmanned and outgunned (outpapered? outshouted?).
