It's that time again! The Film 2880 competition is September 10th through the 12th.
(For those who are new, Film 2880 is a 48 hour filmmaking contest associated with the Port Townsend Film Festival. We'll have 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a 10 minute movie. This will be our third year entering, and every time has been a blast. A long, crazy, so-exhausted-I'm-starting-to-hallucinate blast.)
As I've mentioned before, we're pulling out all the stops this year and will be incorporating a B unit for aerial photography. This means that we'll need a second camera. While I can rent one if need be, I'm a cheap bastard when I put on my producer hat. Anyone want to loan us one? If you're interested, you can ride along with Captain
xmurf and get a credit as the B unit camera operator.
Beyond a plea for a camera, this is also a general casting call. If you're interested in acting, please leave a comment. Shooting will all be on Saturday, September 11th, during the day. As long as the weather cooperates, it will all be outside. We don't know exactly what we'll be doing yet, of course, so I'm scouting out a variety of locations. All of them are a bit of a drive, however, so you'd need to be available as early as 8:00 and until 22:00 or so. It will be a full day, but nothing too exhausting. (For you! I get to stay up editing for the next 24 hours.) Food will be provided, natch. As far as I know, everyone who has been involved in the past has enjoyed themselves. I'll be writing the script based on who is available, but I can't guarantee I'll use everybody who volunteers. It all depends on what we end up making. :)
