Film Contest Update #3

First draft of the script is done.

I'll make a quick editing pass now -- as I got more into the characters going along it became a bit bottom-heavy. But sleep soon. No use burning out this early in the game.

Film Contest Update #4

[livejournal.com profile] xiadyn and I just returned from a mapcap costume and prop buying spree. It's times like these that I really wish I had a motorcycle with a sidecar. That increases the mapcap factor of anything by 50%.

As the Costume Mistress starts altering the clothing, I now get to do some emergency cleaning of the apartment. Filming starts in an hour or so.

Film Contest Update #6

We're on a short break as new daylight bulbs are procured. I wanted to avoid doing lighting, but it just couldn't be avoided. We're also going to stretch into nighttime shooting at this rate, so lighting will be even more critical then.

Because of the nightfall issue we've been shooting sequentially. Which is silly and a bit wasteful, but this way as it gets dark it won't look too weird. Might even imply an interesting sense of accelerated passage of time, which would go nicely with the plot.

We just finished page 2 of 6.25 pages. A bit slow, but steady. There are some larger chunks of dialog coming up and those go by quicker.

Film Contest Update #7

Dinner break. Just got back from driving [livejournal.com profile] datavore home. Waiting for the pizza now.

5 out of 6.25 pages have been shot. One scene to go.

23 hours left.

Film Contest Update #8

Principal photography is done! Late, yes, but done. 67 minutes of raw footage, which is a bit lower than I expected. Hopefully I was frugal but not disasterously so. The encoding begins now.

21 hours left.

Film Contest Update #9

Encoding is finished. 1 hour 8 minutes of footage, occupying 14.4 gigabytes of disk space. Now I have to split this into a couple hundred individual files, one for each take.

A bit under 20 hours remaining.
