That's a really great metric, and definitely a good test to look at after an actual election. Using it to guide districting is tricky, though. That would involve a lot of simulation based on demographics and polling, which raises all the same issues as above. Very easy to dismiss those results as biased because, yeah, lots of inherently opaque political positions have to be baked into the model. Particularly in a world which is increasingly lacking any concept of shared objective reality. =\
